Sequel to Home is the Sailor
Royal Navy Series Book Four
Sail away once again with Will Marshall and Davy Archer in this collection of missing moments from their saga. Meet some of the background players from their story as they take center stage in tales of their own. Enjoy a journey through the family album of the Royal Navy series universe in the following stories
Captain’s Courtship is the tale of Cynthia Lancaster and newly promoted Commander Paul Smith as they face revolution in both the Lancaster household and the colonies, unwilling to let anything stand in the way of their love.
While fleeing an angry mob who takes exception to a despised Aristo courting a French girl, David Archer's cousin Christopher St. John and his fiancee wind up on the HMS Calypso in See Paris and Live.
The relationship between Will Marshall and David Archer has moved beyond friendship into love worth risking death for—even though neither young man has spoken his feelings. But when a storm leaves them Castaway on a deserted island, their fantasy is within reach… if they dare to take the chance.
After the harrowing events in Ransom, David Archer is given the chance to take the test that will promote him to Lieutenant, and secure the first step in his career. But when Will Marshall realizes the vast difference between their social standing in their Voyage to London, he wonders whether there will be room in Davy's life for him, after all.
Finally, enjoy six short Royal Navy stories that show a glimpse of Will and Davy at the holidays—Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's day, shore leave… and a special nit-picking vignette from Charlie Cochrane.

Although not strictly and m/m romance, the first story, 'Captain's Courtship', introduces the women in the series, who are all strong-willed, brave, and think nothing of veering from the ordinary for the common good. It fills in a lot of blanks which better connects the stories, such as why Davy and his cousin, Kit are so close, besides the fact that they are close in age and Kit could easily pass for Davy's brother. They have always stuck up for each other. Since Kit is one of my favorite characters in the series, besides Will and Davy, of course, I truly enjoyed this glimpse into their family. In 'Castaways' Will and Davy are trying to save each other from going overboard during a storm, but both fall overboard. When they awaken, they've made it to an island and, for the first time in a long time, they are alone. After finding everything they need to find, their thoughts turn to a more physical direction. Although both are crazy about each other, neither have said anything for fear of rejection. The thoughts of what they wish they could do to each other almost drive them mad. It's all too much. The passion within must be expressed. This is a very sexy fantasy allowing Will and Davy to have the physical connection they so badly desire.
In 'Voyage to London’, as a reward for their bravery and to rest after the frightening events of being kidnapped, their captain allows Will to accompany Davy to London to take his lieutenant's exam. They can hardly believe their luck. Although stressed about taking the test, Davy shows Will, who has never been to London, the ropes, from beautiful buildings to how to avoid having your pocket picked. Finally alone after admitting their feelings, Davy and Will can hardly wait to continue to further their relationship in the privacy of their own room. This was a very hot story, full of love and passion. It was good to see Davy and Will be able to truly consummate their relationship.
'All Souls Eve' is a spooky tale in which Davy and Will experience a combined dream sequence in which they meet their old nemesis, George Correy, who is dead, the man who almost destroyed them. Although terrifying, it reaffirmed Davy and Will's bond, which is stronger than any evil they may encounter. Although a scary story, it has a wonderful conclusion.
'Gift Exchange' is a very endearing story written in the form of a letter Davy writes to his mother at Christmastime. Davy tries to tell her about what's happening without worrying her unnecessarily. He also reminisces about past Christmas celebrations and tells his mom how much he wishes he could be there. Davy also talks about Will and how he has no family and informs his mother that he would like to bring Will home with him the next time he visits. Since he knows that Will has no one to celebrate Christmas with, Davy surprises him by sharing the Christmas present his mother sent him. Will bemoans the fact that he has nothing to give Davy but a Christmas kiss is all he needs. It's a sweet story, reemphasizing the strength of their love even in the face of danger.
In 'Fortune Favors' Davy volunteers to test a small boat and takes Will along for the ride. They pull in a small cove, away from prying eyes, and redefine the term of 'a quickie.' It's a very sexy story.
In 'Tokens of Affection' Davy and Will mourn the fact that they can't celebrate Valentine's Day as they would like to, but that doesn't stop Davy from finding a way to give Will a special token of his affection, a picture of the two of them together. This is another sweet, endearing story about two very special men.
'Touch' is a sensual, pleasurable story of a sexual encounter between Davy and Will while on shore leave. During this passionate lovemaking session, Davy turns the table on Will by giving over to his control. The story is written in a very sexy, but loving way.
'Worldly Goods' by Charlie Cochrane is a hilarious story about, of all things, lice. Everything in their relationship can't be all glamorous. Picking lice out of Will's hair isn't the most exciting thing to do, but it's a necessity of life. What's funny is the running commentary Davy keeps going the whole time he's doing it. I was totally amused with this delightful story.
All of these stories are well-written and quite informative. They give more background of the characters in the Royal Navy Series. They are not stories which will make sense unless you have read the series, but I do recommend it to fans, who, like me, can't get enough of Davy and Will. Thanks, Lee and Charlie, for providing me with a greater understanding of the series.

This is a lovely collection of short stories, with a few new ones. If you enjoyed the developing love between Will and Davy, these stories are a way to revisit old friends. Highly recommended.
Excellent historical details, fabulous attention to detail, top notch writing and confident author's voice. This is a collection of stories in the author's world and as such is a little disjointed but overall quite strong and I'm a new fan.
